Secrets Out...

We are going to be attending our first trade show March 26th, TransWorld's Haunted Attractions Show. There are a lot of things that we have to do before we go. We need curtains, poles, banners, shirts, business cards, order forms, rental trucks, the kitchen sink, apparently we need hotel rooms, food, and water.

Hopefully its all worth it. If not, I'm going to have to have a talk with the kids why Santa left them paper bags and toothpicks. "Sorry kids, remember when you wouldn't eat your peas, well I guess Santa saw that little tantrum you threw...".

Next up....Clowns, everone's scared of clowns, right?

Elizabeth II The Return of the Windows Movie Maker..

Here is our final version of the commercial we are making available to the public, (sounds so secretive). We would love you to comment on it but don't be a smart ass. If you haven't noticed we are doing this on a pretty tight budget and Windows Movie Maker is all we have right now.

We've been branded...our logo

We want Waken to be a dual threat. We want to hit all areas that someone would say, "Hey Jennifer wouldn't that look great in our Haunted House, Christmas House, St. Patrick's Day house, (that would be a great house, being greeted with a green beer and having leprechauns running all over the place!) ". Our logo needed to reflect the duality so I sketched out a sun and a moon. Black and White, light and dark, good and evil, Batman and Joker etc..It also resembles an eye, the duality we all face on a daily basis...yeah that sounds like a good explanation.

To be honest, it just looked really cool to me and we wanted a cool logo. So we got together with a really great website designer who does work in the Haunt industry -Plug in here- Rob from
http://www.thevillageofdarkness.com/ who understood what we were trying to get and created this fantastic logo.

Here is our first Puppet/Doll/Creepy thing....

Elizabeth- Our team found Elizabeth in the basement of the abandoned church “Our Lady of Mercy” west of Highway 131 in Petoskey Mi. She was crated up in an old oak box, stashed in a boarded up alcove. The brass plaque on the box read “Do not open for fear of the devil…by the decree of Arch Bishop Peter Zuni”.
We opened it of course. Now she’s yours, we don’t want her anymore…. Quite frankly she’s a little too creepy. Employees have told us stories that Elizabeth stands, talks, and moves her head from side to side. So at the request of our night shift we have no choice but to sell her.

Here we go..

Well here is the first post to this blog. I hope to continue to update this on the progress of our new business Waken Productions. We are a Halloween animatronic prop company. Our first big test will be in March at the Transworld haunt and attractions show. We have a great product and are very proud of it.
